June 2010 was an eventful period to be remembered by first batch of 21 selected trainees of IBM and teams at NIIT Chandigarh 32 D Centre when the trainees make their first career move, as their Technical Training for state of the art technologies was conducted. This was indeed due to a big handshake between two most trusted brand organizations, NIIT & IBM as a part of an Global Talent development endeavor .
Ø Rookie welcome : Ever since the start of the training the asking rate and expectations were high so a high alert Rookie like welcome was given to the group. A classroom based buddy intro round was the event of the first day wherein a lot of talent other than academics figured out. Also it brought out as to what were the fears that individuals had, which obviously was to go away by and by as they establish themselves as professionals.
Well placed and certified Trainer took the batch through various aspects of the three Microsoft OS’s WinXP, Win Vista & Win7.
providing maximum exposure and practice on the technologies using centre’s VPN internet bandwidth high End client environment and excellent course material from NIIT. A huge difference was visible as the entry and exit level tests of all the technologies was compared.
But it was not classroom and lab all the time, as traditional at NIIT there were opportunities for fun as well, Birthday of a buddy was celebrated in between and what he had to face .
Also during breaks when the trainees got this low… It was time to flex the
muscle & win some prizes from Team Leader -tech of the centre.
The training ended with exit tests, cake cutting and farewell songs and presentations.
& a big promise that they will make a good professional and contribute to the organization.
